We’re proud to have been named Business of the Year at the Hull Live Business Awards.

The Hull Live Business Awards, organised by the Hull Daily Mail, celebrate the very best of business across the city and East Riding of Yorkshire. This year’s awards shone a spotlight on the hard work, determination, innovation, and above all passion, which is behind the region’s brightest and best companies.

Our team wowed the judges to take home the title of ‘Business of the Year (over 51 employees)’ this year. It was our sustained growth (including a 300 per cent increase in turnover on last year), and commitment to championing modern methods of construction which made us stand out above the competition. In the last 12 months, despite challenging conditions in the wider construction industry, we’ve continued to invest heavily in both our staff and facilities with a 75 per cent growth in our workforce, a comprehensive training programme to upskill staff, and a new factory which provides 100,000 sqft of dedicated manufacturing space.

As well as impressive trading results, the judges were also won over by our people-centric approach to business, which sees us put people at the heart of everything we do – from our staff to those who will eventually call our buildings home. And our support of a recent Children in Need project in our home city of Hull demonstrates this commitment perfectly.

Ryan Geldard, operations director at M-AR said, “It means the absolute world to us as a business to win this award. Being recognised like this is a fantastic tribute to everyone at M-AR who all work so hard and have dedicated so much time and effort to help us achieve great things for our customers. I’d like to thank the entire team as well as our customers and our supply chain who have all supported us every step along the way and made us the company we are today.

“We pride ourselves on building relationships and constructing communities by putting people first and this is something we’ve taken care not to lose sight of, even as we’ve grown in size.  We’ve got ambitious plans for further growth and to become a full turnkey contractor in the next five years but we’ll remain proud of our Hull roots and the people who we build with and for. We’re proud to be Business of the Year and are looking firmly ahead to the future and what else we can achieve for us and for our customers.”
