Client
Requirements

In order to accommodate the school’s intake for September 2017, London Borough of Croydon required an expansion of the 3FE Woodcote Primary school on Dunsfold Rise to a permanent 4FE School.

The M-AR
Solution

M-AR delivered an engaging learning environment, with a simple and elegant design. Light, bright and open spaces have been paired with red Spandrel panels and reveals to reflect the school’s corporate image and provide a modern feel.

Project Journey

We worked with the community at Woodcote Primary School to design and build a new learning environment suited to the growing needs of the student body.

Our design is elegant and simple, boasting a brick-clad exterior, Velfac powder-coated aluminium composite windows with contrasting red Spandrel panels and matching reveals. We kept the space light and bright, with modern interactive smartboards and a quiet work/reading area.

The learners and staff at Woodcote are enjoying their two-storey learning facility, which includes eight additional classrooms, a quiet reading area, a DDA-compliant lift and WC facilities on both floors.

This school already achieved an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rating, and the new building has a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, with an EPC performance of ‘A’.

Executive Headteacher Timothy Rome is thrilled when the building was handed over on-time and on budget: “The new building and improved facilities will give more children the opportunity to be part of our wonderful school.

Promises kept

“Being modular in design, I wasn’t really sure how the building would look. Unless you were aware of the building type, you’d never realise it’s constructed in a modular format. The choice of fittings and finish truly allow for a bespoke building to meet our requirements. The building is now fast approaching its first year of occupancy and it still looks as fresh as it did when we were handed the keys.  The promotional video footage of our school was taken eight months post hand-over. This demonstrates the high level of quality assurance M-AR offers and reflects the excellent after sales service in place to address any issues that may occur.”
